Slow relaxation and phase space properties of a conservative system with many degrees of freedom.

چکیده
The object of our study is the one-dimensional discrete Φ 4 model. We compare two equilibrium properties by use of molecular dynamics simulations: the Lyapunov spectrum and the time dependence of displacement-displacement and energy-energy correlation functions. Both properties imply the existence of a dynamical crossover of the system at the same temperature. This correlation holds for two rather different regimes of the system-the displacive and intermediate coupling regimes. These results imply a deep connection between slowing down of relaxations and phase space properties of complex systems.

A Geometrical Model for Stagnant Motions in Hamiltonian Systems with Many Degrees of Freedom
We introduce a model of Poincaré mappings which represents hierarchical structure of phase spaces for systems with many degrees of freedom. The model yields residence time distribution of power type, hence temporal correlation remains long. The power law behavior is enhanced as the system size increases. Introduction In many Hamiltonian systems 1/f (0 < ν < 2) power spectra and long time tail h...
متن کاملInteractive Analysis of Space Frame Raft Soil System
This study presents a new approach for physical and material modeling of space frame-raft-soil system. The physical modeling consists of a modified Thimoshenko beam bending element with six degrees of freedom per node to model the beams and columns of the superstructure, a modified Mindlin's plate bending element with five degrees of freedom per node to represent the structural slabs and raft, ...
متن کاملSecond Order Phase Transition in a Highly Chaotic Hamiltonian System with Many Degrees of Freedom
Second order phase transition is numerically investigated in a Hamilto-nian system with many degrees of freedom. Slow relaxations of power type are observed for some initial conditions at critical energy of phase transition , that agrees with a result of a phenomenological theory of statistical mechanics. On the other hand, the slow relaxations show that the system stays in non-equilibrium stat...
متن کاملThe Identification of the Modal Parameters of Orbital Machines using Dynamic Structural Approach
The researcher measured the least number of frequency response functions required for the identification of modal parameters, in order to simplify the identification of modal properties of such systems. In this work, the orbital machines are supposed to be a combination of orbital and non-orbital components. Structural Approach specified the identification of dynamic properties only to those ph...
متن کاملFree Vibration Analysis of a Six-degree-of-freedom Mass-spring System Suitable for Dynamic Vibration Absorbing of Space Frames
This study is concentrated on the natural frequencies and mode shapes of a simple three-member space frame coupled with a dynamic vibration absorber. The dynamic vibration absorber is modeled as a six-degree-of-freedom mass-spring system. For the first time, the free vibration of an elastic structure with a six-degree-of-freedom mass-spring system is found. Each member of the space frame has un...
